New Camp Fire Disaster Recovery Center Opens as Deadline for Residents to Apply for Federal Assistance Approaches

Survivors of the November 2018 Camp Fire in Paradise, CA have ONLY TWO DAYS left to apply for federal assistance to aid them in rebuilding their lives after the deadliest fire in the state’s history. This Thursday, January 31, 2019, is the deadline to register with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and submit a Right-of-Entry form for debris removal. Property owners choosing to hire a private contractor must sign up for the Alternative Fire Debris Removal Program by February 28, 2019.

While the deadline is approaching fast, FEMA has opened a third Disaster Recovery Center, located in Paradise, offering state and federal resources to survivors. At the center, residents can register for FEMA assistance, ask questions about their registration status, and obtain information about resources available to homeowners, renters, and business owners. Two other recovery centers located in Oroville and Chico also remain open.
